Second Chances: Real Life Challenges in Secondary Prevention of ASCVD

This talk will review the challenges of getting risk factors to goals for high risk and secondary prevention patients through case studies and guideline-supported medical management.

 

Learning objectives:

– Identify patients with a history of ASCVD who are at increased risk for recurrent events.
– Review case studies of how guideline-based therapies could be applied.
– Review currently available therapies with Cardiovascular Outcome Trials (CVOT) that have demonstrated benefit to reduce recurrent events.
– Address important lifestyle considerations in management of patient to optimize care.
